By booking or purchasing a Career Counselling Australia service, program or digital resource, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
About Career Counselling Australia
Career Counselling Australia is an independent private career development practice providing online career development services across Australia.
Services may include:
Career Counselling;
Career Assessments and Interpretation;
Career Assessment Profile Review and Interpretation;
Interview Coaching;
student career and education decision-making support;
group career development programs; and
career development resources and digital products.
Services are provided by a qualified Career Development Practitioner within the practitioner's professional scope of practice.
Nature and Scope of Career Development Services
Career Counselling Australia provides professional career development information, guidance, counselling, assessment, coaching and resources designed to support clients in making informed career, education, training and employment decisions.
Depending on the service, this may involve exploring areas such as:
career goals and direction;
interests, strengths, values and preferences;
career and education options;
career transitions;
career decision-making;
employability and career-management skills;
interview preparation;
career assessment results; and
practical career-development actions.
Career development is a collaborative process. Career Counselling Australia provides professional guidance and support, while decisions regarding careers, employment, education, training, and other life choices remain the client's responsibility.
Professional Scope and Referrals
Career Counselling Australia provides services within the professional scope and competence of the Career Development Practitioner.
Career development services are not a substitute for psychological, medical, legal, financial or other specialist professional services.
Where a client's needs appear to extend beyond Career Counselling Australia's professional scope, the practitioner may recommend that the client seek assistance from an appropriately qualified professional or specialist service.
Career Counselling Australia may decline or discontinue a service where it would be inappropriate, unethical or outside professional scope to continue.
Career Discovery Calls
Career Counselling Australia may offer a complimentary Career Discovery Call to help prospective clients clarify their current situation, identify the type of support they may require and understand suitable Career Counselling Australia services, programs or resources.
The Career Discovery Call is an informal conversation about guidance and service suitability. It is not a Career Counselling or coaching session and does not include comprehensive career assessment, career research or individualised career planning.
Where appropriate, Career Counselling Australia may recommend a paid service, program, resource or external referral following the call.
There is no obligation to purchase a service following a Career Discovery Call.
Career Counselling
Career Counselling provides individualised career development support based on the client's circumstances, goals and needs.
Sessions may include exploration of career direction, interests, strengths, values, career options, transitions, barriers, opportunities and practical next steps.
Where included in the booked service, clients may receive a personalised written summary or action plan following their session.
Career Counselling supports informed and self-directed career decision-making. It does not prescribe a particular career or guarantee a particular career outcome.
Career Assessments
Career Counselling Australia may provide career assessment services using professionally selected assessment tools, including third-party assessment platforms.
Career assessments are intended to support career exploration and decision-making. Results should not be interpreted as prescribing or guaranteeing a particular occupation, course, education pathway or career outcome.
Assessment results are considered alongside other relevant information, including the client's interests, strengths, circumstances, experiences, goals, and preferences.
Clients are encouraged to participate in the professional interpretation component of an assessment service rather than relying on assessment results in isolation.
Where a third-party assessment platform is used, that provider may have separate terms, privacy practices and technical requirements.
Interview Coaching
Interview Coaching provides preparation, practice and professional feedback designed to help clients strengthen their interview skills and confidence.
Sessions may include discussion of interview strategy, behavioural questions, response structure, practice questions, mock interview activities and feedback.
Career Counselling Australia cannot guarantee that Interview Coaching will result in an interview, job offer, promotion or other employment outcome.
Employment decisions remain solely with employers and other relevant organisations.
Student and Young Person Services
Career Counselling Australia provides career development services to young people and adults.
Where a client is under 18, appropriate parental or guardian consent or involvement may be required, depending on the client's age, circumstances, and the service being provided.
Career Counselling Australia seeks to respect the young person's privacy and participation in the career development process while meeting applicable professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities.
Where a parent or guardian purchases a service for a young person, Career Counselling Australia will endeavour to make the respective roles, expectations and confidentiality arrangements clear before or at the commencement of the service.
Online Services
Career Counselling Australia operates primarily as an online practice.
Clients are responsible for having suitable internet access, a compatible device and an appropriate environment from which to participate in online appointments.
Career Counselling Australia will take reasonable steps to provide scheduled services but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access where disruption results from internet outages, third-party platform failures or other circumstances outside Career Counselling Australia's reasonable control.
Where significant technical difficulties prevent a session from proceeding, Career Counselling Australia will work with the client to determine an appropriate alternative arrangement.
Bookings and Payment
Paid appointments must be booked through Career Counselling Australia's approved booking process unless another arrangement has been agreed directly with Career Counselling Australia.
Fees applicable to a service will be displayed at the time of booking or otherwise communicated before purchase.
Payment is generally required at the time of booking unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed.
A booking is confirmed once the required booking and payment process has been completed.
Rescheduling and Cancellations
Career Counselling Australia understands that circumstances can change.
Clients who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment are asked to provide at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled appointment time.
Where at least 24 hours' notice is provided, the client may reschedule their appointment or, where applicable, request a refund of the service fee.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or failure to attend a scheduled appointment without notice, may result in the service fee being forfeited and a refund may not be provided.
Career Counselling Australia recognises that unexpected or exceptional circumstances can occur. Where appropriate, late cancellations may be considered on a case-by-case basis at Career Counselling Australia's discretion, subject to applicable consumer rights.
If Career Counselling Australia needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, the client will be offered an alternative appointment. If a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, any amount paid for the affected appointment will be refunded.
This cancellation policy does not limit any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
Refunds and Consumer Rights
Career Counselling Australia will handle refund requests fairly and in accordance with applicable Australian consumer law.
Career Counselling Australia does not exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
A change of mind or failure to attend a booked service does not automatically entitle a client to a refund.
Where a client believes that a service has not been provided with due care and skill, was materially different from the service purchased, or otherwise raises rights under applicable consumer law, the client should contact Career Counselling Australia so the matter can be reviewed.
Any remedy will be considered having regard to the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.
Digital Products and Resources
Career Counselling Australia may sell or provide downloadable resources, workbooks, templates, courses or other digital career-development materials.
Unless otherwise stated, digital resources are supplied for the purchaser's personal use only.
Purchasers must not reproduce, resell, distribute, upload, share or commercially exploit Career Counselling Australia resources without written permission.
Because digital products may be supplied or accessed immediately, change-of-mind refunds may not ordinarily be available once access or download has occurred, subject always to rights and remedies available under Australian consumer law.
Career and Education Information
Career Counselling Australia takes reasonable care when providing career, education, training, employment, and labour market information.
However, information such as course entry requirements, fees, employment opportunities, labour market conditions, application processes, professional registration requirements, and provider policies can change.
Clients should verify important or time-sensitive requirements directly with the relevant education provider, employer, government body, registration authority or other responsible organisation before acting on them.
Career Counselling Australia is not responsible for decisions made independently by external organisations.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Career development involves individual choices and circumstances as well as factors outside Career Counselling Australia's control.
Career Counselling Australia therefore cannot guarantee:
employment or job offers;
interview selection;
promotion or salary outcomes;

particular career assessment results;

any particular career, education or employment outcome.
Career Counselling Australia's role is to provide professional career-development support to assist clients in making informed decisions and taking appropriate action.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are encouraged to participate actively and provide accurate, relevant information for the service.
Clients remain responsible for their own career, employment, education and training decisions and for completing any agreed actions.
Career Counselling Australia cannot be responsible for outcomes resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by a client or from actions taken independently of Career Counselling Australia's professional guidance.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Career Counselling Australia treats client information and professional communications confidentially and handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable professional, ethical and legal obligations.
Clients should review the Career Counselling Australia Privacy Policy for information about the collection, use, storage and handling of personal information, including information associated with online services and third-party platforms.
Confidentiality may be subject to exceptions where disclosure is required or authorised by law or otherwise necessary to meet applicable professional or legal obligations.
Digital and AI-Assisted Tools
Career Counselling Australia may use appropriate digital and AI-assisted tools to support administrative, research, resource development, or professional practice activities.
Digital or AI-generated information does not replace the professional judgement of the Career Development Practitioner.
Career Counselling Australia considers confidentiality, privacy, professional responsibility and appropriateness when using digital technologies within its practice.
Where a digital or AI-based tool materially forms part of a client service or requires relevant client personal information, appropriate privacy and consent considerations will apply.
Follow-Up and Evaluation
Depending on the service, Career Counselling Australia may contact clients following completion of a service to:
check progress against agreed actions;
provide relevant service-related follow-up;
invite feedback;
evaluate client experience; or
understand longer-term career-development outcomes.
Participation in feedback or outcome evaluation is voluntary unless otherwise agreed as part of a particular program or service.
